Wright State U. faculty prepare for strike & seek support
On Jan. 13, Wright State University AAUP members authorized a strike, which will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 8 a.m.
WSU-AAUP leaders said 95% of eligible faculty participated in the strike authorization vote, and 85% voted for strike authorization.
In November WSU-AAUP members voted overwhelmingly to reject a fact-finder’s report.
On Jan. 4, the Wright State Board of Trustees unilaterally imposed an unfair labor contract on faculty.
Details of the imposed contract, and the reasons the Wright State faculty believe this contract harms the quality of education offered at the university, are posted on the WSU-AAUP website at https://aaup-wsu.org/2019/01/06/aaup-wsu-ecs-summary-of-the-administrations-imposed-contract-and-our-recommendation/.
