Negotiations will continue on Aug. 26

Because of Faculty solidarity and resolve, as demonstrated in the turn-out at the Board of Trustees meeting and letters in the AAUP Newsletter, contract negotiations will resume on Thursday morning, Aug. 26.

The administration team reached out to the Faculty team early this morning (Aug. 25), and after confirming all schedules, a bargaining session was set up for Thursday with Mediator Joe Wilson in attendance.

Fact-finding has not been canceled and if a tentative agreement is not achieved this week, the fact-finding process will move forward.

Many faculty members have asked questions about scheduling office hours for next week. Until a tentative agreement is reached, and voted on by AAUP Chapter members and the Board of Trustees, the current contract provisions remain in effect.

For faculty members teaching in-person classes in Fall, AAUP suggests that you try to schedule some in-person office hours next week. However, you have the contractual right to continue conducting all office hours virtually until such time as new contract language about office hours goes into effect.
