AAUP presented additional proposals at short May 23 bargaining session

The Faculty and Administration bargaining teams met for a short session (less than 30 minutes) on May 23.

The Faculty team presented proposals for small “housekeeping” changes to two contract articles, primarily to remove or update out-of-date contract language or to clarify procedures that are described in the contract.

The Administration team said they would be prepared to respond to some of the Faculty proposals at the next scheduled bargaining session, on Thursday, May 25.

Faculty Team Co-Leader Julie McLaughlin said, “We’re looking forward to the administration’s responses to the five proposals AAUP presented in the first two days of bargaining, and hope we can make progress in resolving those small issues.”

Following the short bargaining session, the Faculty Team spent over two hours preparing for upcoming bargaining sessions on Thursday and next week. The team appreciated the food provided by faculty volunteers, which helped the work session go well!

Members of the AAUP Bargaining Unit who have questions or concerns about negotiations should reach out to Chapter President Abbey Yee.
