AAUP Negotiations Update for July 27, 2018

The twelfth negotiation session for a new Unit 1 contract took place Friday, July 27, and lasted about 7 hours, plus additional Faculty Team work before and after the session with the Administration Team.

Faculty Team members said the primary discussion topics were Workload, Compensation, and Benefits.

Another negotiation session is scheduled for Monday, July 30.

Faculty Chief Negotiator Pam Ecker said, “It seems like an agreement may be in reach, but we aren’t there yet. We’re hopeful that we can make a lot of progress on Monday.”

Pam added, “We should have a lot to report at the Beer and Bargaining Update on Tuesday.”

Bargaining unit members received additional information about the Tuesday event via College email.

The Faculty Team greatly appreciates the food supplied by our colleagues over the past two days, including Linda Romero-Smith, Kellee Fields, Alyce Thompson, and Peggy Rolfsen. The sustenance provided definitely helped the team’s perseverance on long bargaining days.
