AAUP Negotiations Update for July 26, 2018

The eleventh negotiation session for a new Unit 1 contract took place Thursday, July 26, and lasted about 5 hours. The Faculty Team members spent additional time in caucus before and after the session with the Administration Team.

Faculty Team members said most of today’s discussion focused on Workload and Compensation.

Faculty Chief Negotiator Pam Ecker said, “We know the College has real financial challenges this year, and the Faculty Team has acknowledged those challenges as we prepared and presented our proposals.”

“As we work toward agreement on a new contract, and wait for the administration’s responses to the ideas we presented today, we hope the administration is taking into account how important faculty are in achieving a sustainable future for this College,” Pam added.

Bargaining will resume tomorrow, July 27.
