AAUP Negotiations Update for July 16, 2018
The seventh negotiation session for a new Unit 1 contract took place Monday, July 16, and lasted about 5 hours (including several caucus breaks).
Faculty Team members said Tentative Agreements have been reached for some changes to three articles: Article 3 (Relationship between the Parties), Article 7 (Selection and Appointment Procedures) and Article 11 (Electronic Course & Curriculum Development).
The Faculty Team said today’s discussion focused primarily on Faculty involvement in governance (Article 6), and the Tenure provisions of the contract (Article 14).
“We’re glad to be making progress in resolving some of the issues, but there’s still a lot left to talk about,” said Faculty Chief Negotiator Pam Ecker.
The Faculty Team appreciates today’s lunch, and thanks Janice Lockett, Julie Klensch, and Peggy Rolfsen for their contributions to team sustenance!
The teams may schedule a bargaining session for Wednesday this week but that session is not yet confirmed.
Otherwise, bargaining is scheduled to resume on Monday, July 23. Several bargaining sessions are scheduled for next week.
