July 30 bargaining session included discussion of workload, and more
The bargaining teams met for 3 hours on Friday, July 30, and discussed workload as well as some other topics.
The Faculty and Administration teams reached a tentative agreement on Article 10 (Annually Contracted Faculty), but several other articles are not yet resolved.
The teams agreed to schedule bargaining sessions for Thursday, Aug. 5, and Friday, Aug. 6, to continue discussion of the entire workload article, as well as compensation, professional enrichment, and the other remaining portions of the contract.
Faculty Chief Negotiator Greg Klein said, “Today when we talked about workload, the administration team seemed to be listening carefully to our explanations for our proposals.”
“We’re looking forward to hearing the administration’s responses next week for all of the still-unresolved issues, and we’re hopeful there will be significant progress at the next bargaining sessions,” Greg said.
Faculty members with questions about bargaining are welcome to reach out to Chapter President Pam Ecker.
