Bargaining 2021 begins with 3-hour session
The Faculty and Administration Bargaining Teams held their first meeting for negotiation of successor contracts for AAUP Bargaining Units 1 and 2 on May 20, 2021.
The current contracts expire on Aug. 29, 2021.
The Faculty Bargaining Team members are Greg Klein (Chief Negotiator), Jason Caudill, Julie McLaughlin, Betsy LaSorella, and Abbey Yee.
Faculty team members said the 3-hour meeting was productive and included several topics:
- Agreement on ground rules for the negotiations process.
- Establishing dates for several additional bargaining sessions during the next two weeks.
- Discussion of faculty concerns related to ongoing safety protocols and opportunities for remote delivery of faculty responsibilities.
In addition, faculty team members said the administration presented proposals for changes to some contract articles. The faculty team will review these proposals and respond to them at future bargaining sessions.Greg said, “The faculty team looks forward to additional discussions about the issues of mutual concern to faculty and administrators.”
The next bargaining session is scheduled for May 27.
